Hello guys, title says all. Let's discuss anything related to DotNetNuke and Turkish Community.

Also you can find Turkish Language Packs, installation guides and how to tutorials at my website.

Lets communicate together.

I started to try dotnetnuke 4.5.5, but as I noticed there are so many bugs/to do's for Turkish users, especially in database side (Turkish Collations),

At first, database creation scripts must be revised.

Does anyone want to add something else?

Welcome Serkan, as you stated, DNN core has critical bugs when used with computers that uses Turkish in their Regional Settings and it makes database conflicts.

To workaround i had to use Latin1_General_CI_AS as both database and server collation.

Do you have programming knowledge? I tried to open some discussions in Bug Tracker (support.dotnetnuke.com), but Core Team said that it won't be easy to re-organize db creating scripts.

Most of Turkish located DataCenters use Turkish Collations as server collation, when DNN configured to use this collation does not work as expected, it fails even with Latin1_General_CI_AS as well.

The only workaround i had found is using same collation for server and database (both has to be at least Latin1_General_CI_AS) Maybe other collations would work too, but i could not apply any other solution.

Yes, I totally agree with you, and in general most open source projects have these type of problems, maybe lack of participation of Turkish users, developers.

I am a senior database architect and giving freelance consultancy services in ISTANBUL TURKIYE. I have programming knowledge and changing some portions of codes and scripts according to my needs, but in general I want to apply general fixes to core project (Because these fixes do not break other international uses).

I do not have an option to change collation in my development and production environments. Instead I will try to fix all these in current 4.5.5 version and maybe we can force the core team to check in these code and script changes (at least we hope that for Turkish community).

Btw: I saw your works and blog about DNN, congratulations for your contribution. Keep up good works.

Thanks for your comments, maybe if we have more Turkish members contributing here, DNN Core Team would be more interested helping us to solve problems.

My primary goal is fixing Turkish characters in URL.

Lets say TabName = Türkçe

TabPath generated from TabName and path becomes: /Türkçe/

But i would like to Replace Turkish characters so path becomes /Turkce/

This would save us, because Most of Search bots bring too many errors at Event Viewer.

If you want i can share more details.
