I have had an inordinate amount of feedback from my users that they do not like that when they click out of a browser without clicking "logoff" when they come back in 15 mins and return to my site they find they are still logged in.  How can this be changed as to when they close their browser it automatically logs them off?  I have looked and found this in the web.config file but am unsure if this is it or not.

<authentication mode="Forms">

      <forms name=".DOTNETNUKE" protection="All" timeout="60" cookieless="UseCookies" />

    </authentication>

I have unchecked Enable Remember me on login controls? under Host Settings and this has changed nothing.

Thanks to anyone for any guidance or help.

Kyle,

first thing to do is to set the timeout to a lower value, e.g. 20 or 15 or 10 - but this is also a question of useability, and I am sure there are users that have an opposite opinion about this.

Second thing is to set the value of the persistentCookieTimeout to 0 (which is the default), this is here:

Again: Also this would annoy some users which check the "Remember me" checkbox at login, I don't know if this can be hidden without any tricks as defining a class for it with visibility=hidden.

Happy DNNing!
Michael
