Before I file a ticket, I want to make sure I am thinking and processing this through correctly and would love your feedback.

I'm on windows 10, I have DNN 9.0.2 installed.

I went into site assets and created a new "standard" folder called "MyDocuments"

I then uploaded a standard PDF into the this folder.

I then went into the folder permissions of "MyDocuments" and specifically told it to only allow registered users to write to folder and read files in this folder.

I can click on the link and see the PDF in the folder

But when I go into incognito mode in Chrome, without signing into my DNN platform, I can still access the PDF document.

Shouldn't the document be only available for "registered" users?  If so, then how come anyone can view the document in incognito mode?

Am I missing something?

Thanks for any tips!

this is by design, any file in a "standard" folder using direct link is delivered by IIS, bypassing DNN Security.
That's what "secure folders" are fore, where you'll need LinkClick.aspx handler to server the files, which does check view permissions.
LinkClick may be used on Standard folders as well, but will just obfuscate the path of the folder, the file resides in.
