My SQL database keeps growing so I looked at Logs.  I am running DNN 7.02.01lication version you are

When I go to Host Settings/Logs it shows logs back to August 2012.

I wanted to delete the logs so:

1.       In Host settings/Other Settings I set Log History to 7 days.

2.       Then I went to Host/Schedule and edit Purge Site Log.  It was Not enabled so I enabled it and set it to run once a day.  Then hit update.

3.       I hit edit Purge Site Log again and selected Run Now.

4.       Then I restarted the application just to be sure.

However, when I went back to Host settings/Logs the logs still go back to 2012.

How do I delete old logs and how do I stop the SQL file from growing and growing????

where did you check? PurgeSiteLog just takes care of the SiteLog table, not Eventlog or ScheduleHistory.
In scheduler you may access scheduleHistory for the job and check for errors during execution.
If your eventlog is too large, purge may fail any you may truncate it manually using Host > SQL : TRUNCATE TABLE {databaseOwner}{objectQualifier}EventLog

the logs under host->host settings->logs are text files - they simply show the logs of any database activity (any *.log.resources files in Providers\DataProviders\SqlDataProvider) and any upgrade log activity (any *.resources files in Portals\_default\Logs ) - as such they do not take up any database space. To see what is taking up the space in the database take a look at
