Hi,

I have dnn 8 installed on my local development machine as dnndev.me.   I am trying to install Version 9 as a second instance using dnn9.me, which I cannot get to work.  However I can configure version 9 to work using dnn9.dnndev.me.  What is it that I am missing?  How do I get it to run under dnn9.me?

dnndev.me is defined in the internet's DNS system to return the localhost address. Any subdomain of dnndev.me (*.dnndev.me) is also defined to return the localhost address.

There is no such entry for *.me, which is why it won't work.

I use *.dnndev.me for local installs. So you can have dnn9.dnndev.me, dnn8.dnndev.me, fred.dnndev.me, thissillywebsite.dnndev.me, etc.

If you want to use dnn9.me, you could put that in your local hosts file, but it will work only on your local machine. If you need dnn9.me to work within a local network, you would need to configure that with a local network DNS adjustment.

Thank you Jose
Just connecting to this topic, in regards installing a DNN 9 sub site, can we create fred.dnndev.me as a IIS virtual directory under dnndev.me?

Thanks
