Fox Valley Technical College (FVTC) is based in Appleton, Wisconsin. For eight straight years, they’ve been voted best Local College/University by the Post-Crescent’s annual Best of the Valley "People’s Choice" awards.
When FVTC’s website launched in 2006, we lived in a world without Twitter and iPhones. Back then, we rarely accessed websites from mobile devices. As FVTC planned for a 2014 website re-launch, they viewed a strong mobile experience as a top priority.
On their previous site, the user experience was inconsistent and 85% of pages were viewed once or less. Marketing made minor content updates on the site; however, all other website changes were implemented by IT, on a home-grown CMS.
Selecting a Web CMS Solution
As part of the 2014 re-launch, FVTC looked for a
.NET-based, commercial CMS solution. The FVTC team evaluated SharePoint, Sitecore and DNN’s Evoq™ Content. After a thorough review, FVTC selected Evoq Content: they admired Evoq Content’s quick “time to use” and “time to value” and their developers loved that minimal training was required for the marketing team.
Evoq Content provides a more intuitive user interface for FVTC’s Marketing Team, who valued the wide availability of third-party modules in the
DNN Store. They discovered that little customization was needed to use the modules purchased from the DNN Store.

Next Generation Website Launch by Fox Valley Technical College from DNN
In the first six months after launch:
- The new site saw a 100% increase in mobile visitors.
- The new site garnered a 16% increase in organic traffic from search engines.
- One department received 200% more inquiries (via the website) since the new site went live.
