Hi Guys,

Has anyone had trouble with the scheduler on DNN 7.02.01?  For the most part it works really well and couldnt be happier. We use it to push new online orders into our ERP and have it set on a 3 minute timer.

The scheduler usually fires and completes its task in 2-4 seconds, never really get any errors.

From time to time the scheduler may not fire for 10-12 minutes, only happens once or twice a day but its really really noticeable. There are no errors. We have checked the event log each time it happens and there is nothing out of the ordinary on the pages before or after the event.

The next run timer always seems correct.

Any ideas what could cause this? Are there limits on the number of scheduler threads that can run? Anything else we should check for?

The DNN scheduler is only active when the DNN platform itself is active. As such, execution times are not guaranteed. The ASP.NET process could shut down due to inactivity or otherwise and the jobs will not run until the site comes back.

In cases where you have a resolution of 3 minutes, if the task is very critical you might consider other options for scheduling to ensure reliability.
