I have a module installed on a tab (page) at a DNN portal, user usually log in the portal and then go to the tab. Now I need to create a link from another product and let user bypass the login process and go to the tab directly. I am wondering whether this could be done by modifying the portal or page's configurations without code changes.

Thanks,

Hong

Hong,

when a user should be able to see the page and module information without logging in, you have to grant View permissions to All Users on page and module label. Then you can send a link to that page.

If you don't want it in the menu for non-authenticated users, you can uncheck the approbraite checkbox in the page settings ("Include in menu"), and add another page only visible for authenticated users (and included in the menu) that redirects to the page with your module. You can use a similar name and menu position to avoid irritations :-)

Happy DNNing!

Michael,

Thanks so much for your response. I tried the changes as you suggested, however, I am still confused with the URL of the page.

My module is a user control, here is the page's physical path ----- C:\trupcisites\pciportal.vectra.com\DesktopModules\TruPCIScan\ViewTruPCIScan.ascx

And this is the page URL when user access it through login ----- https://vectra.vectrapci.com.au/Scan/ReviewScan.aspx -----"https://vectra.vectrapci.com.au" is DNN portal's host name which points to "C:\trupcisites\pciportal.vectra.com", "Scan" is the menu (parent page),  "ReviewScan" is a sub menu (child page) under "Scan" menu.

I am wondering what URL I should use when the page is redirected from the link without login.

Thanks,

Hong

physical path is not relevant for delivered content, as the controls are built into the page by the CMS.
You cannot access a control directly, unless you name it as parameter, which should be reserved to system controls.
In custom modules, use EditURL instead of NavigateURL, see source of e.g. HTML module or Christoc Module template for reference.
