I want to omit the home page from the menu. How can I accomplish that?

The home page can be reached by clicking the site logo, so adding it to the menu is superfluous.
Also the home page contains only information for unregistered users, so once you logged in, this page is useless.

My problem seems to be that the first item in the menu, becomes the home page, even when you specify otherwise in the site settings.

It would be a bonus if the home page for registered users were different than the one for unregistered users. I currently have both pages combined where every module on it is available to either registered or unregistered users, but not both.

I tried to disallow registered users access to the home page, which fixed the menu, but now results in an access denied page when they visit the root of my site. (which is where the site icon links to)

If you want to remove the home page from menu, just uncheck the "include in menu" option in page settings.

I wish it were that easy.

Unfortunately unchecking "include in menu" also causes the page not to be the home page any more. The first page that is shown in the menu, always becomes the home page of the site.

When I visit localhost/ it now shows the second page of my site. And because that page is members only, unregistered users are greeted by the login page. :'(

To view the (intended) homepage I now need to visit localhost/Home.aspx. (which is the page configured as home page in the site settings)

Even worse: When I do include the home page in the menu (and set that page as the home page of the site), but place it as second item in the menu, the first item in the menu also becomes the homepage.

Conclusion: The first page in the menu is the home page of your site, no matter what. That can't be right can it?

(BTW, I'm using dnn 7.0.4)
