show menu results in DropDown list, use show flags and add proper template to list language names.

To Show flags, you should set the properties in the Skin.ascx file to:
1.<dnn:LANGUAGE runat="server" id="dnnLANGUAGE"  showMenu="False" showLinks="True" />

To show langauge selector Drop Down list set the Properties to:
1.<dnn:LANGUAGE runat="server" id="dnnLANGUAGE"  showMenu="True" showLinks="True" />

If you want to add only letters w/o the Images you have to use the first one and modify the css class in the Skin.css file
