Is there a way to flag email updates on a profile for verification, similar to what happens when a user registers? I figured not, but wanted to ask before I did anything custom.

The short version of my situation is that my company is converting their old site to DNN (this is my first DNN site and first custom module). We are importing thousands of users to the new site, some of which have mail problems. Since part of the site is eCommerce (a custom module), we have a process to require all our users to update their profile via our custom module before they can do any transactions. My plan is to send the email manually and hold the changes until they verify, but I was curious I was curious if it was possible to configure this such that the system does this in the same manner as new user registration (i.e. holds the email update pending verification).

NOTE: I am not using the default profile update screen that ships with DNN because we chose to hide/disable all the "community/social" stuff and there is no clean way to separate all that stuff (i.e. we disabled all of it).

I have a pretty good idea how I will roll-my-own, but if anyone has some clever advice on the subject, I would be interested to hear that as well.

If this is not a system feature, this might be a good one to add to the list since email is so important for eCommerce stuff.

I'm sorry but I don't quite understand the question - are you looking to see if DNN has the ability to force users to update their profiles? If so, yes - check admin->site settings->user account settings->login settings and you can check the "require a valid profile for login". If this is enabled users will have to have a valid profile - if you want to trigger it for all your users a slight "hack" for this is to add a new element to the profile and make it a required field. Now all users will need to update their profile when they next log in. If this is not what you're asking, could you provide a clearer step-by-step of what you need to happen and hopefully I can answer if DNN can do this or you need a custom extension
