I would like to get an idea of what our Survey users would like to see added/enhanced in future versions of the Survey module.  Please keep your post (within this pinned thread) short and precise (using bullets with feature and details only if needed to understand the enhancement).  Also please keep your post to one (1) post with all your ideas, if this thread gets too long it will become too hard to work with and will be a hindrance and not a help.  Finally, please Do NOT "Vote" or give supporting posts to already suggested ideas as again that will lengthen the thread making it less usable. Once we have a list of features we will setup a pole of some kind to get your votes on most to least important to set release priorities.

Thank you for your help.

Best Regards,

I just had a complaint from a user of the Survey v4.5.0 module on how the results are calculated for multiple answer questions.  Could this be changed in the next version? See below for example:

"for a question with multiple answers:  When you calculate the percentages, they should divide by the total number of people completing the survey, not the total number of responses to the question.  For example, for the Bring a Dish party, 21 of 24 people replied that they would probably attend,  This is 19 divided by 22 which is 88%, not 12% as shown:

 3. How likely is it that you would attend a party where you would be asked to pay the cost of food provided by the committee?

Very likely (17)  71%
Somewhat likely (6)  25%
Unlikely (1)  4%

  4. Which of the following events would a person in your household be likely to attend if it fits into your schedule? Please check all events of interest to you

Bring a dish party (21)  12%
Pizza Party (19)  11%
Kentucky Derby party (19)  11%
Sporting event (10)  6%
Wine tasting (17)  10%
Outdoor barbeque at our outdoor grill (17)  10%
Bocce party (7)  4%
Party where we hire a musical group who asks for donations for performing (15)  9%
Movie Night (8)  5%
Ladies' Luncheon at the Clubhouse where each person brings food (15)  9%
Holiday Parties (22)  13%

Dear Santa Claus! :-)

There are some things I would like to be added to the survey module.

  • Single choice grid with "from-to" selection

About the guy who wrote this post

He is smart I agree very much I disagree completely
He is intelligent Oooohhh.... yes! No! Thick as a brick!
He is helpful Always Never
He is competent Very much Not at all
  • Single choice grid with options in the header

Please rate (1=very good, 5=not worth to read)

  1 2 3 4 5
The DNN Survey module as it is
The proposals found in this post
  • Multiple choice (checkboxes) grid with options in the header
  • Free text answers, as well as single-line and multi-line textboxes
  • Headings for different chapters
  • Labels for explanations etc.
  • Export of results to xlsx (or csv at least)
  • (Not so important:) Improved templates and styling capabilities (themes)
  • (Important, but propably not realistic): ML support

Best wishes
