We have identified a number of issues in Custom Profile Property in 6.2.x that requires a specific set of steps to work around.
Turn on Custom Profile:
Log in as Host
Go Admin --> Site Settings
Under "Registration Settings" tick the check box for "Require a valid Profile for Registration"
Scroll to the bottom of the page and click the the "down arrow" to the right of "Profile Settings"
Scroll to the bottom of the page
Click the linked text "Add New Profile Property"
Enter the information marked as "Required"
If you enter a data type that requires a length (text, rich text, etc) enter a "Length" in numeric characters
Click "Required"
Click "Visible"
Click "Next" button bottom left
If you are providing localized text enter it in this screen.
Once you are done on this screen click the linked text "Save Localized Text"
Now click "Return" bottom left of this screen or the 'X' at the top right of the pop up.
The Site Settings page will refresh and your newest Profile Property will appear at the top of the Profile Property list
The two identified issues in this process:
1. There is no "Save" button on either screen
2. If you select "List " as a Data Type the values will not render in the registration screen. The drop down will render but it will be empty
