Background

DotNetNuke contains an Event viewer that acts as a historical log of (enabled) events and exceptions. A number of these are defined in the EventLogType enumeration but from DotNetNuke version 5.2.0, the controller also supported passing string based event log types. This allows for modules (both core and 3rd party) to log their events under sensible types and does not add a dependency on particular DotNetNuke versions for a particular event log type.

Enumeration

The current list of entries in the EventLogType is below - whilst they (attempt) to use understandable names, a number refer to core entity tables. Brief descriptions have been added to help describe what the type of logged event is.
