Hi, I'm getting frequent "Webserver Updated"  & "Application Restarted" pairs of events in my Admin logs. Does anyone know why this might be occurring? I'm running DNN 9.1.1, on windows IIS, and recently installed AD-Pro authentication module.
Thanks!
Tom

Tom,

this could be caused by an AppPool shutdown. Please check in the Advanced Settings of the AppPool (in IIS manager) if there is a time limit in the AppPool (Process model -> Idle time-out) or a specific time set to recycle the AppPool (Recycle -> Specific Times).

Also there could be a memory limitation for the AppPool (Recycle -> Private Memory Limit) or a request limitation (Recycle -> Request Limit). These values should be 0 to avoid an automatic recycle.

Happy DNNing!

Thanks Michael,

The Process Model - Idle timeout is set to 20 minutes. Recycling - Specific Times is set to 'TimeSpan[]Array'

The Recycling - Private Memory Limit and Request Limit are both set to 0.

I heard that this could be due to database size limit, which sounds likely since the restarts started occurring when I implemented AD-Pro and many new users were registered.(I'm looking into increasing the limit and/or removing many old users from the site).

One quick question, do you have any idea why, when I Delete a User on my site (and it shows User Deleted in DNN) when I look in the database User table, the IsDeleted column still shows '0' ? Also do you know if there is a Remove Deleted Users function in DNN9?

Thanks for your help. Much appreciated.

Tom

Update: It's not the database size limit - that was set to autogrowth with unlimited max size. So I'm trying to look more into the AppPool .

Tom,

the IsDeleted column in the users table is deprecated. The relevant column is IsDeleted in the UserPortals table. A user can be member of more portals (if you have that in your installation), and might be deleted from one portal, but not from another one.

I did not find a function to remove all deleted users, neither in the interface nor in the prompts. Maybe a good idea to add one.

Happy DNNing!
Michael
