We're looking at building a new system and will be using DNN as a base for the website as a CMS and user management system.

We want to separate out the web API e.g /DesktopModules/API/XXXX which is generated through a DLL and sits in the BIN folder on the server which holds DNN, to a completely different server.

We're wanting to have 100's of different websites using the same API but also be able to call things like the usercontroller/portalcontroller which are standard in DNN but be specific to each of the 100 sites in terms of the response. The server/s that the API will sit on will not be on the same server as the DNN install.

Therefore I'm struggling to figure out how we can use something like JWT to pass through to this main API(Which will not be linked) and be able to get things like the portalcontroller/usercontroller that will provide us things like the incoming user and what roles etc. they have.

Any help would be appreciated!

Cheers
