When editing page permissions, the view and edit check boxes are linked. It you check view, edit is also checked. If you uncheck edit, view is also unchecked. We can (and have) modify(ed) the tab permissions in the database and then the page behaves properly.

We have had this issue on one of our client's sites for years. It hasn't been a problem as they rarely add pages, and we just made the change in the database for them. However, they have started revamping the site and this is now a larger problem.

I do not know what version of DNN this problem first appeared with, probably 6.x or 7.x. We recently upgraded the site to DNN 9.2, but the problem existed long before then.

I feel like this was related to a bad admin permission id somewhere years ago...

Do you have any idea for what I should search for to find a fix?

AFAIK intended behaviour should be: if you check edit, view is checked, if you uncheck view, edit is unchecked as well.

Agreed.  What is happening is that when you click view, it also enables edit, and when you disable edit it also disabled view.
