We are running 8.0.  Held off on upgrading to 9.0 with the initial issues reported with that release.

I had successfully configured the SMTP host settings to use an Office 365 email account to send emails from the site (form entries, password resets, etc.) but was notified this stopped working a few months ago.  The event viewer shows the exception is The client and server cannot communicate, because they do not possess a common algorithm

I suspect this is due to Office 365 deprecating some older SSL options and DNN needs to be upgraded to keep up.

I'll give the 9.2 upgrade a whirl, but am looking for any confirmation from anyone who has successfully configured DNN 9.2 to use an SMTP account with Office 365 and has it working, just so I know if there is hope.

Thanks!

-Pat

I am just here to answer my own question. I did the upgrade to 9.2 and TLS 1.2 worked. But only after I installed a dll from forum member David Rodriquez to force DNN to use TLS 1.2. See http://www.dnnsoftware.com/answers/ch...

Perhaps applying that dll would have solved my problem on 8.0 as well.
