Hi,

We have a website which is recently updated to latest version of DNN 9.2 (from 7.X). After the upgrade, the DNN announcement module is no longer working. The module is throwing the following error.

---
Error: Announcements is currently unavailable. DotNetNuke.Services.Exceptions.ModuleLoadException: Method not found: 'System.String DotNetNuke.Entities.Modules.ModuleController.CacheKey(Int32)'. ---> System.MissingMethodException: Method not found: 'System.String DotNetNuke.Entities.Modules.ModuleController.CacheKey(Int32)'. at DotNetNuke.Modules.Announcements.Announcements..ctor() at ASP.desktopmodules_announcements_announcements_ascx..ctor() at __ASP.FastObjectFactory_app_web_bnqtvai1.Create_ASP_desktopmodules_announcements_announcements_ascx() at System.Web.Compilation.BuildResultCompiledType.CreateInstance() at System.Web.UI.TemplateControl.LoadControl(IWebObjectFactory objectFactory, VirtualPath virtualPath, Type t, Object[] parameters) at System.Web.UI.TemplateControl.LoadControl(VirtualPath virtualPath) at DotNetNuke.UI.ControlUtilities.LoadControl[T](TemplateControl containerControl, String ControlSrc) at DotNetNuke.UI.Modules.WebFormsModuleControlFactory.CreateModuleControl(TemplateControl containerControl, ModuleInfo moduleConfiguration) at DotNetNuke.UI.Modules.ModuleControlFactory.LoadModuleControl(TemplateControl containerControl, ModuleInfo moduleConfiguration) at DotNetNuke.UI.Modules.ModuleHost.LoadModuleControl() --- End of inner exception stack trace ---

Can you please help?

Yes, the Announcements module doesn't work with DNN 9.2.0 ... yet. The team that manages this module is working to fix the error and bring the Announcements module into the modern age at the same time. I think that there are forum threads that discuss it.

Thanks for the update, Joseph. Are there any free alternatives to DNN announcement module that is compatible with DNN 9.2 ?

Thanks.

Depending on how you are using the Announcements module, you probably could replace it using any Blog or Articles module.
