I would like to have a custom field in my user profiles that contains a selection of multiple predefined values users could select from when editing their profile. Any idea how to achieve this?

I'm using DNN 8.0.3 assuming that this hasn't changed much for what ever version you're using.

Admin > Site Settings then click the User Account Settings, and then expand the Profile Settings. There you can create new profile properties. Simply create the new profile property as a type of "List". You will be able to add list items to that list.

Thank you for your reply.

I tried that before I posted and my issue is that I can only select one value from the list. I would like users to select multiple values from the list. Any idea for allowing for that. Thanks again. I've only used DNN for a few months now.

I don't believe that is currently possible with the data types and controls that DNN is using.

A dropdown list is basic control for selecting one value from a list of supplied values, but if you are looking for multiple selections from a single dropdown then that requires a different control and a whole lot of backend logic to support it.

Then again I'm not a DNN programmer just a DNN user.

Yes, this would require a modification of DNN.

I think that I'll add a feature request at support.dnnsoftware.com and we'll see what happens: DNN-10789
