Hi,

I have some trouble with the language editor. I have some desktopmodules developed and the portal in configured for two languages.

When I try to edit a modul specific resx file, after saving the changes in the textelements, a new file is generated. It looks like the following files:

after first modul installation there is one resx file per language: Filename.ascx.de-de.resx

After a first save there is a second file for this language: Filename.ascx.de-de.Portal0.resx

After a second save there is a third file for this language: Filename.ascx.de-de.Portal0.de-de.Portal0.resx

And so on. Can someone help me?

Thanks

Boris

Boris,
which DNN version are you running, this sounds like a known bug in an earlier version.
Usually there are 3 types of resx files.
- System files (provided with modules or language packs) don't contain an additional qualifier
- Host files are created by users to override system files for all websites of a DNN installation, adding a .host before resx extension
- Website files are created by users to override System and Host files for the current website, adding a .portal[PortalID}] before resx extension

Hello Sebastian,

thanks for the quick response.

We are using Version 7.04.00

I have read now some more dokumentations. So, the situation you have described, means also when deploying a new desktopmodule, which ist only used in one portal, it is better to give the resx file a name like "filename.de-de.portal-0.resx". This may avoide multiple resx Files for one language?

Thank you

Boris
