I have a site that I am developing a custom news module for. There is a list of news previews on the page http://siteurl.com/our-company/news-updates/ Some of the news articles have more detail and need a new page to display the full article on the page http://siteurl.com/our-company/news-updates/news-detail however I need to rewrite the /news-detail/ to the title (seurl) of the article such as http://siteurl.com/our-company/news-updates/descriptive-news-title-here

Here is an example of what an IIS rewrite would look like that I am trying to achieve:

<rule name="NewsArticle" stopprocessing="true">
 <match url="our-company/news-updates/([^/]+)/?$">
  <conditions>
   <add input="{REQUEST_FILENAME}" matchtype="IsFile" negate="true"/>
   <add input="{REQUEST_FILENAME}" matchtype="IsDirectory" negate="true"/>
  </conditions>
 <action type="Rewrite" url="/our-company/news-updates/news-detail.aspx?seurl={R:1}">
</action></match></rule>

The site is using DNN v. 09.01.01 (129)

this sounds like an issue of URL rewriting in your custom module.
