I cannot find anything on the SERVERS/SMTP SERVERS configuration page for setting the "from" email address for routine system notices.  How does one set the sender address?  Can anyone create a rational comprehensive guide to some of the basic funtionality that disappeared with the advent of Ver 9?

OH. It only shows up if you click "basic" authentication. The documentation left that part out

Answering my own questions.
seems that it has to be updated through a SQL query.
Here is the one used

/** E-Mail **/
UPDATE [HostSettings]
SET [SettingValue] = 'no-reply@thiswebsite.xyz'
, [LastModifiedByUserID] = 0
,[LastModifiedOnDate] = GETDATE()
WHERE [SettingName] = 'HostEmail'
GO

On older versions of DNN, you specified the Host Administrator in Host Settings.

For 9.1.1, I believe it is the Primary Administrator on the Settings, Security page of the Persona Bar. Settings is the fourth (gear) icon.
