Dear DotNetNuke Pros,

Please help.

Is there a way around the Allowable File Extensions truncation issue?

Here is why I ask.

...as of 01:01 PM 01/19/2018...

...for DotNetNuke 8.0.3...

...for this setting...

> Host Settings, > Other Settings, >Allowable File Extensions

...I have set this...

avi,bmp,css,csv,dib,doc,docx,dxf,eot,gif,htm,html,htmtemplate,htmltemplate,ico,jfif,jpe,jpeg,jpg,js,mht,mhtml,mov,mp3,mp4,mpeg,
mpg,odg,odm,odp,ods,odt,oth,otp,ots,ott,pdf,png,ppt,pptx,rar,rpt,rtf,slddrw,svg,tab,template,tif,tiff,ttf,txt,vsd,vsdx,wav,wmv,woff,woff2,xls,xlsx,xml

...but it seems like it gets truncated to this...

avi,bmp,css,csv,dib,doc,docx,dxf,eot,gif,htm,html,htmtemplate,htmltemplate,ico,jfif,jpe,jpeg,jpg,js,mht,mhtml,mov,mp3,mp4,mpeg,
mpg,odg,odm,odp,ods,odt,oth,otp,ots,ott,pdf,png,ppt,pptx,rar,rpt,rtf,slddrw,svg,tab,template,tif,tiff,ttf,txt,vsd,vsdx,wav,wmv,wo

...so that seems to mean there is maximum for this settings...

...do you happen to know any details about this?

Please advise.

If I am wrong about there being a "Allowable File Extensions truncation issue" then please correct me.

BTW, if you are asking if I "need all those extensions" then my answer is "Yes".

Thanks.

Edited this post to make it so it wasn't so wide you couldn't see the right side

@chris, thanks for the edit, by the time I realized it was too wide, it was too late to edit, so I appreciate your excellent help. Thanks.

Mark,

I inspected the problem - and yes, you are right. The point is that this setting is stored in a row that is limited to 256 characters (Table: HostSettings, Row: SettingValue nvarchar(256)). This should be nvarchar(max) obviously.

I reported the issue to https://dnntracker.atlassian.net/brow...

Happy DNNing!

....could I just edit the schema in the table manually, using SSMS, to fix this?

(Sadly, I cannot upgrade from Dnn 8.0.3 yet so I am stuck.)

What do you think?

Please advise.

Thanks.
