IIRC it used to be possible to install a module by:

- dropping the installation .zip file into /install/module

- making a request to www.MySite.com/install/install.aspx?mode=installresources

I want to automate installation of a module to my staging site.  I tried this and I get a 404 on that resource.  Is my memory wrong?  Is there an alternative approach now to automate a module install?

Best wishes,

due to security issues, install.aspx is now removed after install and upgrade of DNN.
You would need to extract this file (and the config) from install package and copy over to /install folder manually - and should remove it after you installed it again.
