When I try to load alias name of a domain with special characters such as 'ü' then, the following error is shown on the browser.

---
Server Error
404 - File or directory not found.
The resource you are looking for might have been removed, had its name changed, or is temporarily unavailable.
---

Even though the 'PortalAlias' table of database is updated with the proper alias name with special characters the issue persists. Any help is appreciated.

You might want to check and see that the special character is allowed in domain names.

How can I check it? Can you please give me some directions here?

The domain is hosted in Windows Plesk server. The Plesk panel as well as IIS support these chars. It is when comes to the DNN, I'm noticing this problem. I have already updated the domain name correctly in the PortalAlias table. Still DNN can't find it.

Use Google to search for what's legal in a url.
