Running DNN version 08.00.03

 

Prior to changing my config file to handle the "advanced" url re-write my 404 page not found was working perfectly. Now ever since the config change when a user hits a bad page instead of getting the 404 page the user gets this.

 

https://MYWEBSITE/404ErrorPage/ctl/Access%20Denied?message=You+do+not+have+access+to+view+this+page+within+the+site.

 

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Also finding that this permission error happens when the 404 is at the root level. If the 404 occurs with a parent the user is sent to the parent page without any errors.

I don't know if this is the normal way to fix this but the access denied goes away after I change the permissions on the 404 error page to allow everyone to view it.

But the issue with the child pages returning to the parent pages on a 404 error are still occurring.
