Hi

I am currently having a problem in DNN Evoq version 9.1.
We upgraded from 8 to 9 a few days ago.

Unable to find some users on the DNN persona bar user management window.
Kindly advice tried searching with all items(first name, last name, etc.) I can possibly think of for the user is not being returned.

We tried the following.
1. Recreate the user
Got a message that the username must be unique
2.Checked the database the User is in the database and active last login date was in table  aspnet_Membership  2016-11-22 10:39:30.707 (last year)
3. Compared some of the user's tables with an account that works and found no differences that looks like it could be causing the problem.

I currently have 3 user accounts that have the same issue.
Kindly advice if there is any other option I can try in order to view these users.

Kind Regards
AJ Schoeman

The deleted flag isn't set on the users in the database is it? Do they exist in the UserRoles table, or the Userportals table?

User Management in DNN 9 is known for issues, especially with large user bases.
the problem is caused by the new strategy searching user in the DNN search index (based on Lucene files) instead of retrieving it from the database (all user information has to be retrieved from the database afterwards in any case). This new strategy will fail if a) the user records have not been indexed yet or b) there is an issue indexing users.
Note: this behavior might change in DNN 9.2.

My suggestion: delete all files in /app_data/search and re-index your site.

Hi
Thank you, we solved the problem by
1.Changing index proc to return all users (GetAvailableUsersForIndex)
2.Deleting /app_data/search and running a reindex
3.Change the proc back to origanal.

Kind Regards

Glad you got it solved.... I recently ran into this issue and the underlying culprit was the lucene (search) file had been locked.

The fix was to recycle the app pool so that the lock was released.
