Hi,

I want to install our old modules on a new DNN 9 Site.  I builded the module with the new assemblies and installed it without error. When I want to change to the edit view, on a page where this module is placed, I get this error message:
[ArgumentException: Cannot unregister UpdatePanel with ID 'upContent' since it was not registered with the ScriptManager. This might occur if the UpdatePanel was removed from the control tree and later added again, which is not supported.
Parameter name: updatePanel]
   System.Web.UI.PageRequestManager.UnregisterUpdatePanel(UpdatePanel updatePanel) +162
   System.Web.UI.ScriptManager.System.Web.UI.IScriptManagerInternal.UnregisterUpdatePanel(UpdatePanel updatePanel) +50
   System.Web.UI.UpdatePanel.OnUnload(EventArgs e) +42
   System.Web.UI.Control.UnloadRecursive(Boolean dispose) +247

First I thought maybe something in my module is messing with the script manager. But I made a simplified module that looks like that:
<%@ Control language="C#" Inherits="My.Modules.TestDNN9Module.View" AutoEventWireup="true"  Codebehind="View.ascx.cs" %>
<asp:UpdatePanel ID="upContent" UpdateMode="Conditional" runat="server">
    <ContentTemplate>
         Hello World!
    </ContentTemplate>
</asp:UpdatePanel>

The above sample works fine when I remove the UpdatePanel but what would be the best approach to get my old modules working ? My Problem is here that we have a lot of modules and not much time, so if anyone got an idea how I can get the Update Panel working again I would be happy, if not we don't have a choice but to start work.If you have some recommendations what should be used instead of UpdatePanel, I'm also interested. If you need any further information from me, feel free to ask.

Thanks, this looks promising.

When I find some time I will test it.
