Password Reset link giving 404's. Not sure when it broke, but have noticed some events in the logs now when user try to reset password. I've been able to duplicate it my test/dev and live site. The URL provided in the link seems to be invalid.

Browser URL when clicked:

To fix it, I remove the TabID=177 and the page displays and I'm able to change the password. Tab ID 177 in the DB is for SiteRegistration page.

DNN 9.1.1 as mentioned not sure when it broke, but I want to say probably around the 9.x time frame. I know it was working back in 7.x and 8.x versions. If it wasn't I would think I would have been alerted to the issue. 

Any idea on why and how to fix it?

Looks like the issue is with the Friendly URL Provider. My Web.config was set to "humanfriendly". I changed it to advance which is the default in DNN 7.x and later. Retested and now the link sent in the email works.

This also fixed an issue I noticed with HTML Editor Manager in "Settings/Site Settings/Site Behavior/More/HTML Editor Manager. This was also giving a page not found message prior. After the above it's working as expected now.

So it looks like there are some defects around using the "humanfriendly" setting for URL Management.

Advanced URL Management (AUM) has been introduced in DNN 7.1.0 and should be used for all sites running DNN 7 and up.
There are a number of additional settings to provide exactly the URL you want. To access all AUM settings in DNN 7 and 8, there is X3 URL Management module (https://dnnurlmanagement.codeplex.com), I haven't tested it on DNN 9 yet.

Yeah. Knew the default changed a while back had some modules though that didn't work with it so had to retain the Humanfriendly setting. The modules have since updated and looks like the issues resolved just forget about the setting.
