I just upgraded a site from 7.4.2 to 8.0.3 to 9.1.1.  When running the security analyzer, I now get the error "The setting passwordFormat is not set to Hashed...".  The site's passwordFormat is set to "Encrypted", which I assume was the default in pre-9.x installs.  If you change the passwordFormat in the web.config from Encrypted to Hashed, the site throws an error and can't be loaded.  If DNN is recommending changing this config, how can it be done to upgraded websites that were created as "Encrypted"?

Hey Gary:

I've run into similar issues in the past. I've pinged someone to hopefully be able to add a new response to help you resolve this.

Note: switching the password format in web.config will not change the password stored, until the user updates his password.
You should request every user to update the password after you switched the option.
