In Evoq 9.1, DNN Corp made the "Digital Assets Module" (a.k. DNN File Manager) obsolete. It was removed and replaced by "Persona Bar - Assets".

The problem is, all the UI related with handling Folder Providers was there (in the DAM), and it wasn't re-implemented it anywhere.

DNN Corp: You cannot tell users to look for and install the discontinued and removed DAM module, and its Telerik dependency, only to be able to access the "Folder Types" UI.

Besides, I guess the removal of DAM will happen soon also in the DNN Core.
What will happen then to the Folder Providers? This is not an obscure and unused functionality. Many users are using it, and many more would like to use it.

A new interface to do exactly the same ("Evoq Connectors") was added to the DNN  paid versions (BTW, Folder Providers exists since DNN 6).

I thought Evoq was supposed to add features to DNN Core, not to remove them. Right?

Or will Folder Providers  be replaced by "Evoq Connectors" in DNN Core too?

1. Why no way to handle Folder Providers could be found in Evoq 9.1?  (don't tell me the 'solution' is to install legacy / discontinued components. This is NOT a solution. It is a bad joke.)

2. What will happen with "Folder Providers" and "Evoq Connectors", in both DNN Core and Evoq versions.

3. Will this major omission be solved (patched) in Evoq 9.1?  i.e. will you be providing the missing UI to handle folder providers? Otherwise, which are the next steps? How will this be solved?

Thanks

NOTE: a ticket created about this in dnntracker.atlassian.net (https://dnntracker.atlassian.net/brow...) was directly closed (i.e ignored). The given 'solution' was to install all the legacy/discontinued dependencies.

New ticket (same issue): https://dnntracker.atlassian.net/brow...

Was Evoq (9.2+) fixed to support folder providers?

Will they still be supported or discontinued? (in the DNN Core and Evoq)

I'm waiting for a reply from DNN Corp since Jun 20, 2017

"Introducing connectors"
Where are they documented?
What's the difference between connectors and folder providers?
Will folder providers be discontinued?

Was Evoq (9.2) fixed to support folder providers?

On 20 Jun 2017 I've created a Jira ticket" "Unable to add / configure Folder Providers (Folder Types) in Evoq 9.1+"
https://dnntracker.atlassian.net/browse/DNN-9937

It was simply closed as "Won't Fix" with the unacceptable "users will need to install Telerik and then DAM to access this".
Relly? So, thinking it was a misunderstanding I've create a new Jira ticket. It was simply deleted and never answered.

I never got a reply nor explanation from DNN Corp.
