This error starting occurring on a portal that has been running w/o issues until last week - suspect a web admin might have done something, but says no.

The DNN site has approx 20 active portals, and this is the only portal that is throwing the error.
The object reference error occurs only an admin has logged in. The error occurs whenever the user tries to edit a module, or selects any of the host or admin pages from the menu

I'm not sure where to starts looking to fix this, I tried restoring the db from a point in time where the user said it was working ok, but no joy.
All help greatly appreciated

I'm not going to be much help sorry but two things I would try is clear the cache in host setting, I've had sites bug out on me before and this has been the fix. Second, do an upgrade of your install. 4.6.2 is really old, so take a backup of you site and database so you can return it if needed and upgrade to a newer version. remember to check the requirements of the version you are upgrading too to make sure your environment meets those first. This may help you avoid issues along the way: http://www.dnnsoftware.com/wiki/sugge...

REMEMBER TO BACK UP EVERY STEP.

I'm sure someone with more database knowledge will be able to help you more but hey, worth a shot.

Thanks, but I currently can not get to the Admin site settings page to clear the cache due to the object error - the page doesn't load at all.

Unfortunately, upgrading to a newer DNN version is not an option either, as there are a few custom modules that won't work with new versions without an upgrade to those, and they have decided not to go down that path.

IIRC, there is a way to have the BIN folder re-compile the DLL's, which in the past has fixed some strange issues - I just can't remember the process for that - can anyone provide the procedure ?
