Hi,

How can we disable the purging of the EventLog? Can't find a job related to this in the scheduler. There is one "Purge Log Buffer" that could be it as it has FullName DotNetNuke.Services.Log.EventLog.PurgeLogBuffer but that is not enabled by default and we still get EventLog purging.

What is the current status of the site log, whats the best option to bring back that functionality in an DNN8/9 installation?

Regards,
Patrik Johansson

Hi Patrik,

1 - Each Event Log type has a "Keep Most Recent" setting where you can set it to "All" so that all events of that type will be kept. This is a setting per event type, it is not global. You can find it:

- On DNN8 go to "Admin/Event Viewer" and click "Edit Log Settings" button at the bottom of the page - Then edit each event type;
- On DNN9 go to "Manage/Admin Logs" and click on the second tab "Log Settings" - Then edit each event type;

Warning: If you set the event to keep "All" you will risk growing the database too big too fast.

2 - Site log has been discontinued and you should use Google Analytics os some other external traffic gathering tool;

Cheers,
Aderson

Thank you, I was searching for something "bigger" than 500 entries below the 500 entry so I missed it.

There is no way to specify a time interval.
