Hello Everybody,

I have a simple login module(custom) nothing special. Beside the username password, you have other methods to login(not the problem).
Problem is specific to Chrome. When I login using normal DNN C# method on chrome, the login persists between browser session, this does not happen on IE, Edge etc.
So this is the method I use

UserController.UserLogin(this.PortalId, objUser, PortalSettings.PortalName, HttpContext.Current.Request.UserHostAddress, false);

The user is logged in successfully.
Now on Chrome if I close the whole browser and reopen it the user is still logged in.
On IE if I close the browser and reopen it the user is sent to login page as expected.

Just to repeat this is a simple username password login, objuser is the value returned by UserController.ValidateUser

On my module there is no checkbox for remember me.

Is there any way to force chrome not to automatically log in user once the browser window is closed.

Are authentication cookies are deleted when you close the Chrome browser ?

Please focus on '.DOTNETNUKE' cookie where DNN user identity persist. There is also cookie named 'authentication' that hold the name of the authentication provider e.g. 'MyCustomAuthType'

Possible this snippet can help you:
if(dnnUser!=null) {
UserController.UserLogin(this.PortalId, dnnUser, this.PortalSettings.PortalName, this.IPAddress, false);
DotNetNuke.Services.Localization.Localization.SetLanguage(dnnUser.Profile.PreferredLocale);
DotNetNuke.Services.Authentication.AuthenticationController.SetAuthenticationType("MyCustomAuthType");
}

Hi Barry, thanks for taking the time out to help.
Please could you suggest how to delete that .DOTNETNUKE cookie when browser is closed(through C# or JS).
Is there a way of doing this in DNN.
