I have a DNN 8  installation.  We have hundreds of portals installed. Each portal uses a subdomain and we have a wildcard certificate so that SSL will work for each one.  Typically on our websites we just use IIS to redirect all traffic to SSL.  I've tried doing this with our DNN site and it creates an endless redirect loop. I've seen lots of other people reference this issue but no where is there a solution proposed.  It seems that should be a relatively simple operation.  Has anyone successfully redirected all traffic to https?

I think you could just mark all of the pages as "secure" and then force SSL. Marking the pages as secure is a simple db script.

Yep that would work... Until someone created a new page.

I might be wrong about this... but I think pages inherit the defaults from their parents. So, if the rest of them are secure, it'll default to being correct.

With that said, I do appreciate the logic of an admin or host level setting that would just override the page settings to encourage an "https everywhere" kind of mentality.

The way to do this is to configure HSTS: STRICT TRANSPORT SECURITY https://www.hanselman.com/blog/HowToE.... THere is no need to configure anything on your DNN site.
