Hi,

I am currently having a problem with our DNN 7.04 site with a rapidly expanding log table. I have read to go to Event Viewer and then change settings there, but I cant access that page due the large amount of entries in the table so it timeouts. Deleting the entries in the table is possible but causes the database to be locked up preventing users from using the site. Is there somewhere else I can change these settings like in a config file somewhere?

Brian,

you could go to Host :: SQL and use this command to delete entries older than 1 month:

DELETE FROM {databaseOwner}{objectQualifier}EventLog WHERE LogCreateDate < DATEADD(m, -1, GETDATE())

(or whatever time span you want to, see SQL Server referece for the DATEADD function)

Restart your Application pool after this (under Tools :: Restart Application Pool)

My TurboScripts also take care of limiting size of the log tables automatically.
