We upgraded a website from DNN7 to DNN9. All went well. For some reason the site logo disappeared yesterday. So I went into admin --> site settings and the site logo was not there. So I selected the logo again, using the file system option, clicked enter to save and the logo appears in the site logo box. I then click 'save' on the site settings and get the pop up 'Settings have been updated'. However it does not show up in the skin and if i logout and login again it has gone.

Looking in the database at the PortalSettings table I can see the 'FavIconPath' SettingName and the 'FileID=1076' SettingValue however I can't see one for site logo. Is it stored somewhere else or is this the issue?

Thanks.

Can you find anything in the Admin Logs after you try to perform the save? Can you try putting the logo in a different directory and see if that makes a difference?

Logo is stored in table PortalLocalization (column LogoFile).
try performing a recursive database sync in DNN File management.

Thanks for the replies.

So 2 issues here.

1st, as Sebastian mentions, the file management was not sync'd so it was displaying files in the tree that didn't exist in the physical file structure.

2nd there is a bug with file length. The file name was originally 79 characters long. That can be selected and 'appears' to be saved but is not. I renamed the same image to 36 characters long and that worked. Unfortunately I haven't got time to find that point but between those 2 lengths that the file no longer saves.

Cheers.

there is maxlength for the column to store the file path, this might be limited to 100 chars - DNN is not using fileid in this case (don't ask me, why).
