The web.config appears to now encrypt the connectionstrings.  I am writing modules that require access to a different SQL database.  In the past, it was as easy as just adding another connectionstring in web.config but that doesn't seem to be possible now.  How do I add another connection string?

Thanks

Solved it. You have to decrypt the connectionString section of the web.config then you can add additional connection strings. You can re-encrypt if you like after that (or leave it as is). To decrypt:

1) Install the .NET SDK on the web server
2) Call up an elevated command prompt
3) Enter: aspnet_regiis -pdf "connectionStrings" "path to folder where your web.config is"

If all goes well, this will decrypt your connection string
