I have a fresh DNN8 installed on Windows Server 2008, e.g. http://mywebsite.com. I created a subfolder root/Event and upload a simple index.html file in that subfolder. When I tried to access http://mywebsite.com/Event, it gives me the following error: "404 - File or directory not found. The resource you are looking for might have been removed, had its name changed, or is temporarily unavailable." When I go to http://mywebsite.com/Event/index.html, the page will display properly. Is there something that I need to configure in order for me to be able to access http://mywebsite.com/Event without having to input index.html at the end? Note: The Default Document in IIS already has index.html. Thanks for the help!

By default, no executable file type is permitted in DNN. This is for your protection, because if a hacker is able to get such a file into your system they could create all kinds of mayhem. But if you're bound and determined to do it, I think that if you added "html" to your allowable file extensions, it should work.

Thanks Scott. I tried but that didn't work. I have a DNN6 website and didn't have to customize it and was able to access http://website.com/Event without typing index.html after the URL. Same for default.aspx too.
