Anyone got the AD 5.0.6 provider working in DNN 7.4?
Im not able to get it to work ... looks like something is broken - and the provider does not seem to be maintained anymore? Mike I hope you still is alive? ;)

When I configure the provider it does not seem to check anything anymore (3 green symbols that used to show when configuration was ok is missing) after clicking Update it just jumps back.

Clean install on 2008R2, NTFS permissions ok, integrated pipeline mode configuration.
Running another site on the server with older DNN version, and there the provider is working fine.
The configuration is the same on both sites.

Regards

Audun

I've had the same issue on 7.3.4 recently.

The reason for my failure may be different, but I also do not see the configuration check.

I have also been trying to get this module to work with DNN 7.4 (free edition). I have a complete network with a dedicated domain server to experiment with. I have attempted several experiements with this module on a completely running intranet website with domain security commnuications for IIS site and a separate SQL Server node. When I install the AD Module as host and configure it as Admin, I don't complete the config "naturally". the config process just ends without feedback (hence, the experimentation). If I never attempt to re-open the configuration for the module on Portal 0 nor any other Portal, the AD authentication seemingly work on Portal 0 but no other portals. Aside from simply installing the Module then configuring it once as Admin, the only other setup I have found that removes the runtime errors and enables the AD Module to run properly is to run the two unlock commands listed in the About page during the installation of the Module. What needs to be done to enable the AD Module on Portals other than 0???

Jim, there is an issue in DNN 7.4.0 regarding portalID 0, I would wait for 7.4.1, where this bug will be fixed.

I understand that I can wait for DNN 7.4.1. Do I have a current alternative:

Q1. I was hoping to learn that AD authentication is built-in to DNN7 or DNN8 and the Module is no longer needed. Is this possible?

Q2. Does the AD Auth Module work with DNN 7.3.4? This is my first preference because this version is approved for use within my customers' secure network.

Q3. Does the AD Auth Module work with DNN 8?

Q4. I am prototyping a large commercial project for which I will purchase the Enterprise license but my development period is over a two-year span and I am doing my best to do early prototypes with the Open Source products. Will I have less difficultly configuring this and other Forge Modules if I purchased the Enterprise license now instead of trying to build a production-like system with Open Source products?
