Dear all member!

I just launched my site today. I have the preferred Site Alias to be

A secondary alias of has been set (not the primary).

I have successfully added this to google analytics and webmaster tools.

In web master tools, in using google webmaster tools to tell it to use as the primary, it requires me to setup in google webmaster tools.

When I go to add this site to the web master tools, I'm having problems verifying. It is because (i think) that when I press the verify button on the web master tools, google tries to go the site ( and it's redirecting automatically to

So I'm not sure how I can get this site verified when it's so quickly redirecting. (I have both the google html file and the google meta tag setup, but my belief is that the redirection is occuring immediately and never letting the site be brought up as

strange thing is: I developed the site using a temporary dns name provided by the hosting company. the site comes up under the temporary DNS name and does not redirect.

How do I tell dnn to NOT redirect the site to

Just when I think I'm getting a handle on dnn, something stupid comes along that reminds me I've got a ways to go yet.

Thank's a lot!

For a start - there shouldn't really be any reason to set up the 'naked' domain in google webmaster tools. You shouldn't need to do so if you are using a primary domain name. I would stick with just adding the www version.

To answer the question directly - there are three modes for the way a primary alias is handled. These are : Redirect, Canonical and None.
Redirect sends a 301 redirect for any alias that isn't the primary alias
Canonical doesn't do a redirect, but emits a 'canonical' link element in the header when the page is requested.
None does nothing if you request a non-primary alias.

To fix your problem you could switch it to canonical. But again I would say - no need to add the naked domain to webmaster tools or analytics if you have the redirect setting.
