I want to change database connection as per the login. I have used Config.UpdateConnectionString("my connection string here") and it is updating in the web.config file. But I want to modify connection string only for the logged in user. Can anyone help on this.

this is not supported by DNN - and I don't see a need.
If you need to access a second database within your module, add a second database connection string to your web.config.

Thanks Sebastian,

But my requirement is different. I want a multi-tenant system which uses different database, and database will decide depending on the login. So I have a master db which holds user details and its database name. and each tenant db is dnn specific database. My only need is change the database connection as per the user logged in, but it should not affect other users.

a DNN installation always needs a single database for all DNN objects. Either use an authentication or membership provider, to use a central database instead for multiple DNN installation or move all sites to a single DNN and address different databases from your custom modules only.
