We are using DNN 6. We decided to keep DNN database objects separate from the application transactional data. Our customers get to specify the name of the application database and the DNN database is always that name plus _DNN. i.e. ACME and ACME_DNN

When a module installs or uninstalls, it is my understanding that the manifest specifies which database scripts to run. However, I believe the database context is the DNN database. (i.e. ACME_DNN)

How do I get database objects created in the application database (i.e. ACME)?

theres no automatic way to do this Im afraid -your modules can of course access another database as they dont have to use the dotnetnuke connectionstring, but the installer will use it so you cant create your objects at that point, you'd have to run them at another point. One option would be to use the IUpgradeable interface and get that to do the database object creation on first running of the module.
