Hi,

is there any way to link a Google calendar with the module events?

It is planned to implement something like this in future versions of events module?.

Thank you.

Hi,

In 5.2.0 we are implementing the iCal standard (RFC 5545) for exporting events from the whole module. Previously this was available on a per event basis. This will allow you to sync your events to Google Calendar/Outlook/Facebook (though the Facebook application that achieves this lost it's support yesterday).

There are requests for the reverse (i.e. sync from Google to Events module) which we will certainly look at for future versions, not commitment as to when. This would be done via standard iCal export assuming Google supports that....

Cheers

Roger

I use the Event Publisher to do a one-way sync from the Events module to a Google Calendar. If you're interested in doing this, I'll explain more.

Hey Roger!

I love all the hard work going into the events module.  I downloaded 5.02 RC tonight and loaded it on one of my sites.  I have been looking forward to the iCal feature that several of my users have requested..  I also was looking forward to being able to create a google calendar that could be shared with other sites.  The setup and sync worked flawlessly, but the time zone is an hour off...  I've checked the portal and the calendar and I THINK they are set correctly, but the Google rendering is +1 hour.

I also noticed that the "Notify me" check box does not have text until you hover.   Feature I missed?

This is caused by missing entries in EventIcons.ascx.resx. You should be able to add them via the normal languages dialogues. This will be fixed for 6.0.0, or earlier if Ernst Peter decides to pull the whole release.
