I did a bunch of changes on a site, and I am seeing something different.

Here's what I did:
  1. Changed hosting providers
  2. Upgraded the site from 4.9.0 to 5.4.4
    1. All modules were upgraded or removed if they were not working (migration tested several times)
    2. The site is working great!
  3. With the change in hosting provider, I could no longer use a localhost for email, so I had to set up the SMTP to use the mail server for the site (Google mail for domains) with authentication.
  4. The SMTP test is working and all mail notifications are a go.

The feedback module is the latest release, 4.4.3 (I'm not ready to put the beta/RC on a production site).

Before I did the upgrade and hosting provider change, the email would be sent from the feedback module with the email address, so it was possible to reply back to this address right in email.  No after everything is said and done, the email is appearing to come from the account that is used for authenticating to the SMTP server.

Has anyone resolved this?

Cheers

The from address will always be the address of the account you are using to authenticate with for smtp connection to google.  I'm pretty sure you can get around this, but it is something you have to change on the google account side.  If you search for google smtp and dotnetnuke you will find some pretty good articles and suggestions.

I did a bunch of searching and could not find a solution to allow Google Apps to relay through the email address of the sender of the feedback form.

I had a 450 relay/day account set up at a site which I wasn't really using, so i am now using this and it works great.

I have the same problem. And even worse I can not find the sender's email address. I have an important message I need to reply but where can I find the sender 's email address? Thanks.
