Hi,

I'm running DNN 4.9 on Win 2003 on the company DMZ.

I developped already a few modules.

I'm now trying to optimize DNN. I remarqued that the pages take 1 more second to be displayed from the local network than when i open the pages in local on the server in the DMZ. (the DNN webserver and database is on the DMZ)
So a page that takes 1 second to be displayed on the server, takes 2 seconds to be displayed on any computers of the local network

This doesn't occurs for other website that use .Net technologie but without DNN

Do you have any ideas where to check to optimize this problem ?

Tanks for you help

Vivien

Start by analyzing your network and firewall.  If you believe you need to remove this time delay, and the only difference is accessing from within or outside the firewall, then that's the place to look.

Do your LAN users connect to an "internal DNS" server to map names to IPs?

Does your webserver have internal IPs mapped to sites?

If so, try setting up your internal DNS server to use the internal IPs when connecting to the DNN sites.

When our network configuration changed last year, users in our LAN experienced very poor performance when connecting to and maintaining our DNN sites.  (We use an Astrocom appliance for fault tolerance for our public websites.)

Specifying that, witin our LAN, the dnn.XXX.org domain name points to 192.168.2.105 (instead of directing traffic to the Astrocom) resolve the issue.
