I'm trying to make some minor modifications to the wiki module and need some basic help getting going.  I read the post http://www.dotnetnuke.com/Community/Forums/tabid/795/forumid/70/threadid/290840/scope/posts/Default.aspx and from that I get that I need to download the wiki source .zip file and then open my development version of DNN and install that .zip file.

I've done that, but the trouble is I don't know how to make edits to the .vb files.  I can change that .ascx files from heck to breakfast and those changes show up fine.  But changes to the .ascx.vb files are completely ignored.

I suspect it's because DNN is using the code in the .dll files rather than the .vb files.  But if that's the case, how do I get it to look at the .vb files instead?

Once installed you can open Visual Studio and open the SLN (solution) file for the Wiki project.

Oh, I see. So you open the solution, make changes, recompile and then go to the DNN website installation to view the results.

That seems to work.  But do I have to resort to old-fashioned debugging methods or is there some way to use Visual Studio's debugger on the Wiki module I'm updating?

Thanks so much for the tip and the quick reply!

Sorry for the short reply earlier :) busy times :D

You can debug by "attaching to process" from the Debug menu, attach to your w2wp process, or aspnet process depending on which version of IIS you're using in your development environment.
