I'm facing a weird problem that the "ViewState" of a GridView control is being lost on postback. I have a Module which contains a control that has a GridView. The data is conditionally bound to the Grid on Page_Load event, if the Page.IsPostBack is false. It is just the GridView that is causing the problem, I placed a DropDownList along with the GridView to check if DropDownList is having the same problem but No...DropDownList didnt lose the ViewState and worked as expected.

The strange thing is that this module is working perfectly on another instance of the DNN. So, it means that there is something wrong with my orignal instance of the DNN. I compared the Web.config of both DNN instances with each other, they are almost similiar. Is there any setting that I might have changed accidentally ?

I would be very thankful to you.

Regards,
Zeeshan Q. Ali

P.S. How do I know that "ViewState" is being lost? I analysed the "ViewState" of the page before and after postback(using  ViewStateDecoder).

what are the viewstate settings in Admin > Site Settings > Performance / Host > Host Settings and did you make sure, not to use module output caching (in Module Settings)?
