I am getting this message: You Do Not Have Permission To View The Requested File when using hte Documents or Links Module in DNN 3.3x.  The page, and module permissions seem to be OK.  It also happems in the Documents Module.

Can anyone help me with my settings?  somethings must not be set properly.but I can't find it.

Thanks

Ron Wiegand

You need to make sure the files you are linking to have the proper permissions as well. If they do not, you will get the error that you are seeing now.

was having similar problems and thought it was permissions issues, but checked and the worker process had appropriate permissions... in the end, followed the thought process on this page:

http://www.eguanasolutions.com/DNN_Blog/EntryID/1.aspx

and they were right on! after doing a complete "sync" from the host and admin file managers, the same links/files that were showing a permission problem are now workign just fine!

Ryan-
Glad the info is helping others (the issue drove us crazy for weeks and was seriously impacting our customers before we identified the cause (antivirus software) and workaround.  Were you able to pinpoint the specific cause of your blocked portal files/directories?  I'm interested to know how many others have had issues positively identified as being caused by antivirus actions and which antivirus products were involved.
